UCSB students ride all MTD buses for free by tapping their valid student ID on the farebox. UCSB staff & faculty ride Line 28 free by showing their employee ID.

All MTD routes run on different schedules during the holidays. Download the latest Schedule Guide or pick one up on one of our buses or the Transit Center to see a holiday service schedule. Lines 15x, 27, & 28 have different schedules than the rest of MTD’s routes during holidays and when UCSB is out. To see the service schedule for these routes click the link or see pg.118 of the Schedule Guide.

Yes, Simply secure your bike to the rack at the front of the bus! Racks are available on a first come, first serve basis. For more information about taking your bike on the bus or what to do if you forget your bike on the rack, click the link.

Items of value (cell phones, wallets, etc.) that are turned in to Lost and Found at MTD will be forwarded to the Santa Barbara Police Department. Clothing and other items are held at MTD for 4 days, after which they will be donated to charity. Perishable or offensive items are not held.

Service animals are always welcome on all MTD transit services, as required by law.  All service animals must be under the control of their owner and either sit on the floor out of the aisle or be held on the passenger’s lap.  Small pets are allowed on MTD transit services in approved carriers only.
